Very satisfied. Joanne understood Mabel's behaviours quickly and offered good advice. Really helpful. I am very grateful. I was feeling fearful of some aspects of Mabel's behaviour but afterwards felt comforted and encouraged that this is something that I can understand and take steps to ease Mabel's anxiety in specific situations. I began implementing the advice straight away and was very encouraged by the immediate difference it made. Joanne was marvellous. She listened to my concerns, she explained to me why my dog is behaving in this way and gave me excellent advice for dealing with the situations to prevent or to minimise Mabel's stress......and mine! She really understood the problem and helped me to see it from Mabel's perspective. It is too easy to get lost in your own fear when dealing with a reactive dog and Joanne's calmness and understanding really helped. Thank-you so much for helping me and Mabel.

I found her advice very easy to follow and feel that it will be very effective. I was also reassured that these behaviours are very natural in puppies especially common in terriers. Joanne had lots of very practical advice to follow. Things that I had not come across when reading about puppy care. I found her very friendly and easy to talk to. Joanne took on board my concerns I found her advice was easy to follow and innovative and am looking forward to trying some of the strategies out, particularly as it was becoming quite hazardous to put his harness on.

The advice and report was a lot more in-depth than we expected and had a few new things to try. Overall we were very impressed with the help we received. Joanne listened patiently and was very clear when explaining and answering questions. Joanne seemed to have a good understanding of what we are going through. Very patient and knowledgeable.

Very accurate and very helpful. Joanne explained everything so I understood exactly. Brilliant advice and made a lot of sense, and helped my understanding of what was happening and why.
Joanne offered several pieces of advice all of which extremely helpful and improved my self confidence in solving the problem. I was concerned my issue would appear trivial, but I was reassured this was not the case. Excellent advice offered which helped my self-confidence with my dog. Joanne was very understanding and had a very friendly approach whilst being informative and helpful.

Good listening skills. I felt understood and the advice was relevant. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured. I was reassured and helped. Thank you for the support which was most appreciated. Following the advice I have already seen an improvement in the dog’s behaviour and am confident in what I need to do going forward.

I was very distressed over an incident involving my dog and it really helped to be contacted so quickly. Joanne ran through all the options regarding behaviour and what steps to take, we discussed what help I needed to be able to manage my dog safely, also what type of muzzle, harness and other things that would help controlling him when out. There is hope for my boy, I know with more help I will be able to safely manage my dog in public. Joanne was able to offer very good advice and also to put me at ease. Her help lifted me from total despair and stress, she was just so compassionate, and she re-assured me that we could work to get my dog under control and manageable. I can only say thank you, I was desperate following an incident and thought I would have no choice but to have him PTS, thanks to the kind support I received I now know there is hope.

Very knowledgeable with loads of experience and advise. Joanne helped us get the right harness and lead to help us with positive training. We have learnt that Millie is also quite nervous when meeting new situations. Very helpful positive lead training and recall. Great advice on leads and harnesses. Really helpful lady with a lot of knowledge, patience, and experience.

Joanne was amazing with her understanding of what support I needed and was very empathetic. I felt a massive relief that things will get better with the right help and guidance. Joanne addressed my concerns and made me feel better that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and that we (dog and myself) need time.
" Hi Joanne, I thought you would like to hear that the training helpsheets and information you gave me have been really helpful - Bouncers recall is getting better and better - I've been really pleased with him, and touch wood, have had no more incidents with sheep!"

"Hi Joanne. Penny seems to be gaining confidence daily and has allowed a few people to speak to her with no barks. Since changing Penny's diet she is much happier and energetic. She is excited to go on her walks and comes running when we call her for them. She has discovered that she is a hound and spends much more time exploring with her nose, which is lovely. We do feel there has been a lot of progress and she definitely enjoys being out and walking generally".

"Hi Joanne, Poppy is doing well with the LAT game and is improving. Sometimes it can be a little tricky judging the point at which she doesn't react, especially when other dogs approach her unexpectedly. We continue to work at it and will keep you updated. She is much more settled now in her bed in the utility room - much easier now the fireworks have finished".

"Just a few words to let you know how Wallace is doing. When we first got him he had issues with guarding his bed and female owner. With your help Wallace is coming on in leaps and bounds.

The guarding of his bed is very little to what it used to be. Anyone who meets him says what a lovely dog he is in nature and looks and neighbours and our dog walker have said they see a change in him for the better".

"We got in touch with Joanne when two weeks after we brought him home, our 16 week old golden retriever puppy was showing signs of separation anxiety. Having not had a full nights sleep in two weeks we were beginning to feel a bit desperate. Joanne was fantastic, we had weekly training sessions at home so the whole family could be involved in our puppy's basic training, Joanne also emailed info sheets weekly which were really helpful. When we first met Joanne we couldn't leave Bailey alone for two minutes before he started showing signs of anxiety, with Joanne's expertise, support and encouragement we can now leave him comfortably for around three and half hours. We thoroughly recommend Joanne to anyone looking for 1:1 dog training and help regarding separation anxiety".

"Joanne has a very in depth understanding of dogs and was excellent in helping our lurcher Frankie with his behaviour issues. Great support at all times".

"We started 1-2-1 puppy training with Jo when our dog was only 12 weeks old. Like most pups ours was a bit of a handful, loved a good chew and didn't particularly understand our commands. Jo was great as she taught us techniques as much as teaching Donald what's wrong and what's right. He really seemed to respond to the positive rewards technique as well. Jo is clearly a dog lover and has fantastic knowledge of all breeds which was very insightful. Our 6 month pup is still a rascal - but has really kept on board what we were taught through our sessions with Jo."

"Since attending the training sessions I have noticed a big change in Sonny, using the methods we were shown she now seems interested in learning new things, pays attention to me and her recall is coming on very very well so we are both happy!

"After you'd been to visit we got rid of the crate, got zeb back on the zylkene, put him in a thundershirt, let him sleep in our room (ok on the bed, ok in the bed!) and I started making the dinner in my wellies and coat amongst other things - following your plan to desensitise him etc.
_______________________
The change has been AMAZING!!! Within three days he was literally a different dog. To begin with he was much calmer but still obviously not very happy, he sat on the couch the whole time we were out, sleeping and looking around, not getting overly anxious but clearly not relaxed, he'd whine and howl occasionally and wouldn't touch his treats I left for him let alone play with his toys...
_______________________
But about two weeks ago I came home and found zebedee happily chomping his way through a pair of my new shoes (brand new, he even chomped through the box) - Instead of being angry I was absolutely delighted. To me it was him saying he was happy to be a naughty scamp whether we were at home or not and didn't need us around to play. Now he will eat food when we're out as well as anything I leave lying around, and his treats will have disappeared too which I think shows he's getting more relaxed. It seems he's gaining confidence in just being by himself and I can even leave him outside a shop while I nip in and buy some milk without him going mental too now..... he's not on the zylkene now but I still leave him in his thundershirt with a treat when I leave the house.

Honestly I cant thank you enough, the leaving the house stress has melted away! A million thank yous for your help, it's been lifechanging!!!!"

"Hi Joanne. Massive difference with Brodie's behaviour, he seems more relaxed and content and a few other people in my family who come to visit my mum has also mentioned it to. A big thank you to you".

"You can read as many books as you like on dog training but for us, practical experience was the best way for us to understand how to work with our puppy. Being a first time owner of a puppy can be truly overwhelming but we found the course to be a lifeline of support in that it gave great comfort to be able to have access to the knowledge and experience of Joanne. We learned a great deal about various training techniques and equipment that really helped us to find the best way to work and play with our pup. We both feel that we now have a solid set of techniques to continue to be good and responsible owners of a very happy dog!! Thank you!!"

"My partner & I enjoyed attending training sessions with our new dog - it was a great way to socialise him with other dogs as well as practice training in a distracting but controlled environment. The strong emphasis on reward based training was very refreshing & contrasted with more traditional 'kennel club bronze' classes which we have attended with some of our other dogs.

Joanne was great at helping us overcome some issues that cropped up after our dog was attacked as well. I would thoroughly recommend these classes to others (& already have done!)"

"Many thanks to Joanne for running such a helpful course for those of us with a reactive dog...it involved a lot of travelling (from Fort William) but was well worth it and Sponge (see picture on right) and I have developed new skills which we will now put to good use....there was a marked improvement seen in all of the reactive rovers at the end of the 6 weeks and much to our amazement they could all sit next to each other last night...thanks also to Primula cheese for helping us to achieve this :-) Personally I don't think you are charging enough for a specialised course...I would have paid double that happily...tho it would have been a struggle with all the petrol money! The class had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the trainer was unflappable which is paramount when you are dealing with something that has caused you a lot of stress over the years...The joy of finally finding something which made sense to both me and my dog was wonderful...and has improved our confidence no end. Thank you so so much...am so happy about it, I could weep!"

"I liked that we had a small group, that it was very relaxed and that there was no pressure. There was plenty of time to practice the simple techniques without any unrealistic expectations. Joanne went to a lot of trouble to assess and match the dogs well, and it showed in how well they all progressed. Mowgli may never stop being reactive, but being able to manage it better, and having changed my perception of it has made a huge difference to life on a daily basis. Thank you for doing this much needed course".

"This is an excellent choice for pups. Joanne is very knowledgeable, very caring and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The result was a very confident, happy, chilled out pup, who doesn't bark at strangers or bizarre objects, doesn't chase cats, is very responsive, very well behaved and as such has turned me into a contented dog owner who has the confidence to know what to do in new situations. I would recommend to anybody, well worth the money"

"Although I knew the theory for training my pup (Millie, an energic border collie was 4.5 months at the start of her sessions), it made a big difference to me, and consequently Millle's response, to come to training sessions.
_______________________
Having an expert observe and critique my interactions with Millie really helped because it's hard to be objective and self aware when I'm on my own. Joanne came up with alternative techniques when something didn't initlally work e.g. Millie is less motivated by food treats and more by games and toys.
_______________________
I feel less worried about the things she doesn't do so well as I've seen that every dog has their stronger and weaker points and that I can reinforce her talents and work on the others gradually. Even her loose lead walking is showing slight improvements from week to week."
